  2. When I try this my arms are straight when i put them on the ground in front of.my hips so I don't understand how to get the leverage and extension to start the jump.

  3. I wish the demonstration was with yogis who are struggling with the jump back rather than someone who already knows how to do it

  4. Hi Kino,
    About the breathing when doing pick up and jump back, I exhale and cross the legs to the chest and INHALE pick up and jump back. What I want to know is, do I take a long inhale all the way through to pick up, lean forward and jump back and exhale as I land to chaturanga? Or inhale while pick up and HOLD the breath a little on lean forward and exhale land to chaturanga? Same with jumping through, do I inhale all the way while jumping through? or inhale to prepare and hold the breath while jumping through?

  5. haha yeah, I suppose I can go from plank to Chatturanga but not from laying down (my hips fall or stick up every time).

  6. This is very odd for me. Chatturanga is like 100 times easier than the crow. The mystery of the human body. I guess, we are all different. 🙂

I just made a playlist with this video on repeat x10, put my tablet in front of my mat and hit play, it works great for going over the 3 movements again a d again, I am still a ways off but I know I am on the right path with your great instructions. one minor confusion I had was how daylene was bringing her feet back in the 2nd mod, my feet seems to get tangled when crossed :-). then I realised daylene has an alternate cross to my details cross, I typically cross left foot over right, now no m

  10. When I started yoga it took me about two years to do chatturanga (a posture very difficult for most women). It was also very frustrating to fall down during each vinyasa but I kept on going. One day I did it and I was so happy that I went home and just did it many many times on the cold floor. Sometimes when I am sad I just do chatturanga for a few breaths and smile and I get happy again. I know that one day I can jump back without any problems. This video was very helpful. Thank you!

    I have trouble compiling myself into enough of a package, can't seem to get my knees close enough in to my chest, though it gets easier as I warm up. I'm working on 2nd mod you explained, I can lift but can't get enough height to pivot forward so my feet just stay on mat where they are and I end up moving my hands forward and taking my legs back one at a time,some day it'll click :-). Thanks for all your great video's!

  13. One thing must be noted with the easy life of the Western world it is only they who are making their life more easy with such practices than people of India. It's a shame that there is no Indian participation or an instructor when other religious people are practicing these concepts of Hinduism except the Hindus. All that Indians do is clean-up their left-overs today!!!!!!!!

    Can you do this or any yoga? If it took her that long so what? She certainly has grown from the experience. And if you are humble and open it may not take you as long because she's passing on what she has learned tru trial and error to us. But from your comment it is evident that you don't practice Yoga. Because Yoga is not just "exercise"

  16. really nice tutorial on this. My main problem is that I cannot pull the knees up close to the chest in that first step the way Daylene does here – and that inability seems to make the rest of the sequences not happen (at least as cleanly as shown here). Any suggestions for how to work on this part. Not sure where the tightness/restriction is coming from. Forward bends are pretty open.
